Construction of the Gunlom Falls Walking Track in Kakadu National Park

Scope of work

  • Construction of 217 dry stone steps and 191m2 of dry stone pavement in UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Utilising both hand-built and machine-built techniques to Australian Walking Track Standards AS 2165.1.
  • Stone pitching and rock armouring, water bars etc to ensure water drains away from finished track surface
  • Source local stone from within approved corridor
  • Closely work with Traditional Owners with cultural monitoring 100% of the time
  • Organise helicopter operations. Directly liaising with helicopter pilot, coordinating lift and drop zones with crew members, loading and de-rigging transport bags.
  • Be responsible for staff in remote location, setting up campsites and facilities in the National Park.
